Highlights from Today’s Washington Post Coupons 9/5/10

If you’re debating on whether or not to buy the Sunday paper today, my suggestion would be to hold off because it’s Labor Day weekend and the regular Smart Source & Red Plum coupon inserts are absent. But here’s a heads up on some of the coupons available from today’s Washington Post (Sunday, September 5th, 2010 edition):

From the Sunday Paper:

  • On page A9 – Shoppers Food & Pharmacy Coupon for FREE Coca-Cola 20 Pack or Pepsi 24 Pack 12 oz. Cans, All varieties with coupon and $35.00 additional purchase. Expires 9/6/10 (only good for 2 days!)
  • On page A14 – Ruby Tuesday restaurant coupon for Buy One Entree (Seafood, Steaks & Chicken, Ribs & Platters, Pasta or Brunch) and Get One of equal or lesser value Free (up to $10 in value). Not valid with Tuesday specials, Dinner for Two, other coupon or holiday offers. Expires 9/17/10.

No Smart Source Insert because of Labor Day weekend

No Red Plum Insert because of Labor Day weekend

From the Giant circular:

  • $0.99 for 1 Smucker’s Grape Jelly or Jam (32 oz. jar). With a $15 minimum purchase and with your Giant Bonus Card. Limit one per customer. Valid 9/3/10-9/9/10.

From the Famous Footwear flyer:

  • Take an extra 20% Off your entire purchase at Famous Footwear, Famous Footwear Outlet or Factory Brand Shoes stores. Not valid on Skechers Shape-ups, Reebok EasyTone or Reebok RunTone. Other exclusions may apply. Expires 9/11/10.

Also, this isn’t a coupon, but there was an interesting article on the front page of the Business Section called “Teaching the Kiddos To Sock It Away: For the young set to learn about saving, debt and money management, it all starts at home” by Sonja Ryst.

For those of you that got today’s Sunday Post: Any of your favorites not listed above that are worth mentioning? Leave a comment and let me know about it!

Thanks for the tip about the Shopper’s coupon inside! I got a little excited and said ” I can spend $15 on meat no problem!” and then saw the coupon threshold was $35. I misread your post 😦
But I would have missed this coupon otherwise. TY!

      Hi Maura,
Glad to have found this coupon, but like you, I was a little disappointed that you need to spend at least $35 to use the free coke/pepsi coupon. This would work well for someone who is already planning to get a bunch of other groceries at Shoppers in the next day. But like you, I tend to like a lower threshold especially if I am shopping around for other great deals at other stores during the week.
Have a great Labor Day weekend,
      Laura

Bummer, I bought the Sunday paper for the coupons…too late. 😦 Although I’d like to be in the know for future coupons or savings!:)

      Hi Janice,
      That is a bummer!
In the future I’ll try to post a day or two before that Sunday to give folks a heads-up that there are no coupon inserts in the Post.
For the remainder of the year, the coupon inserts should also be absent on 11/28/10 (Thanksgiving), 12/19/10 (Christmas), and 12/26/10 (New Year’s). I keep up with Sunday Coupon Preview to know what inserts to expect on a given Sunday.
      Have a great Labor Day!
      Laura
